My current internship is at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, RI, doing Graphic design and Photography. Throughout my internship I have gotten the chance to take studio portraits, take photos at big events, assist the photographer, create graphics that were displayed throughout the war college, perfect my knowledge of engraving and so much more. This internship has given so many important skills, helped me perfect my photography and learn from my coworkers.

Throughout my internship I have learned a lot and made a lot of connections. I have also written a few articles for the War College that have been published in their newspaper, The Beacon. Working at the Naval War College has given me a lot of professional experience that I can carry with my throughout my career. I have grown over these past few months and have been forced to come out of my shell and more outgoing. Without this internship, I would not have been prepared to go into the "real world" after graduation.

My biggest achievement during my internship was going from assisting the photographer at big events to becoming the main photographer. I started off by watching the photographer and learning how he set up, what he brought with him to events and how he interacted people. When my boss thought I was confident enough and skilled enough to shoot as the main photographer I was then tasked with a lot of upcoming events. The first event went well but I was extremely nervous. The more I did the more confident I became and it slowly became less stressful and more fun. In the "event photography" section below, I have included a few of my successful events.

This internship has helped me a lot in ways that I can use in future jobs. I have become a better photographer and I was able to use my graphic design skills, perfect them and use them in real life situations. Working here has taught me how to apply the skills I have learned in college, into a professional setting. I am now confident that I have enough professional knowledge and a professional attitude to help me be successful in my career.
